Frequently Asked Questions
Know the App
  • How do I start using EasySign?
  • After downloading EasySign you must create an account with a valid email address as your user id. Login to the App to draw and save your signature using a finger or a stylus and save it. Import a document into the App. Open the document and insert your signature, date and any text. You will get instant preview of the signed and completed document and in minutes the final document can be emailed to any one you wish. *iOS app version 3.4.1 already allows you to import documents from Dropbox or any other online location.
  • Why does EasySign require to set up an account?
  • According to E-Sign laws in most countries, there should be an audit trail of the whole signing process such as the identity of the person signing the document, the time and day of the event, the file name and other such info. We need to keep copies of all the original and signed documents on our secure servers unless you delete them explicitly through the App. That is why we require you to set up an account. We also take it as an opportunity to listen to our customer's needs and feedback so that we can serve them better. User accounts allow us to reach you should there be a need.
  • Are e-signatures legally binding?
  • Electronic signatures are legally binding in many countries worldwide including USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Eurpean Union and many others. Please refer to Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) , Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) and European Directive (EC/1999/93) for more details.
  • What type of document formats are supported by EasySign?
  • Android v1.0 currently supports only PDF files. iOS v3.4.1 supports PDF, MS-Office (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT), TEXT, HTML and commonly used image formats (JPG, BMP, PNG). We are working to support csv and tsv files.
  • How do document credits work?
  • We charge one document credit for signing a document irrespective of how many signatures are put on the document. You can buy document credits in packs of 3, 5, 10 and 20. If you have our premium unlimited package, you don't need to worry about document credits.
  • How many people can sign the document?
  • A total of 3 signers (including yourself) can sign on a given document. For a different document, you can entirely have another group of 3 different signers.
  • Can I sign multiple times on a given document?
  • You can sign as many times as you want on a document.
  • Other than signing, can I also fill a document with other relevant information?
  • You can insert date, time and any text on the document. On iPhone/iPad version you can also insert buttons and checkmarks. We are working to support corporate stamps and custom images.

Importing and Downloading Documents
  • I am trying to import a document, but it shows me an error.
  • Please check the format of file first. EasySign supports PDF, MS-Office (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSZ, PPT), TEXT, RTF, HTML and commonly used image formats (JPG, BMP, PNG). If you are on a poor internet connection over WiFi or 3G, it may cause a failure in importing the file successfully.
  • I am trying to import the document to EasySign but it is taking too much time.
  • Either your file size is too bigger than 1 MB or more, or your internet connection is weak. In these cases, it may take longer time to upload the document. So, be patient or try to import it on a faster internet connection. Alternatively, you may import it by sending the document as an attachment to docs@easysignmobile.com from your registered EasySign email user Id.
  • I did not receive the signed document back in my email inbox after signing it successfully.
  • Sometimes, the emails from EasySign may end up in your spam folder due to any spam settings from your email provider. To ensure delivery of these emails, please add support@easysignmobile.com and contact@easysignmobile.com to your email address book.
  • I imported the document into EasySign, but cannot find it inside the App.
  • Please check the file name does not have any special or accentuated characters such as ‘;’, ‘/’, ‘\’ , ‘ñ’ and so. Sometimes, you may not be able to view the documents with filenames consisting of above characters. We recommend you re-import the document by renaming the document name to something simpler.
Technical Issues
  • When I try to sign the document, it asks for password.
  • Many Corporates or other entities sometimes lock their confidential documents by a password so that no one else can access the information in the file or make any changes in it. If you wish to open the document, the password must be provided from the one who has sent you the document.
  • After I open the document in EasySign to sign it, it gets rotated or shifts to landscape view.
  • Currently, that is a known issue with some PDFs which appear with their orientation rotated. Currently we are looking into it. In future, we may support a "Rotate" functionality for the document.
  • The App freezes or crashes. What should I do?
  • Sorry for the inconvenience. We are continuously adding new features and enhancements to the product and sometimes, it introduces new bugs. Please send us the details how the App crashed and What you were doing at that point of time. If it is happening with one particular file, please send the file to us at contact@easysignmobile.com and we will definitely look into this issue.
  • My Client or myself signed incorrectly. How can I fix it?
  • If the signature has not been saved on the document after you placed your signature, you can tap the "X" button at the top to delete it. But if signature has been saved by tapping the "Save" button, you have to delete the original document and reimport it. In future, we may support a "start over/reset" functionality on a document.
  • I cannot draw my signature properly.
  • If you are using a particular type of screen protector on your iPhone or iPad, you may have problems in drawing signatures with your finger. You should consider various styluses available in the market. We recommend the one at http://www.tenonedesign.com/stylus.php.
Document Credits
  • How much does it cost?
  • When you sign up, you get 3 free documents to sign. After that, you can either upgrade to unlimited lifeterm package at 14.99 $ or buy credits in packs of 5 docs(1.99 $), 10 docs(3.99 $) and 20 docs (5.99).
  • I need to buy more credits. Where can I buy it from?
  • You can buy document credits in bundles of 3, 5, 10 or 20 by tapping the "Credits Left" Section in the App using In-App Purchase . You can also buy the "premium package" for unlimited documents from the same location.
  • I signed the wrong document or the signed document did not come out as expected. Is there a credit refund?
  • Please send all the details to contact@easysignmobile.com and we will try to help you with the credit refund.
  • What is the validity period for the "premium unlimited documents" package?
  • It is valid life-term for a limited time. Get it while it is hot. We are not joking. :-)
  • I did not save the signed document. Still one credit is gone!
  • If you went through the final step of generating the signed document, the document should appear in "Signed Documents" section. If it does not and one credit is still gone, please write to us at contact@easysignmobile.com and refund will be credited if there was is a problem on our side.
